Dear Doctor:
The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) is now accepting nominations for the RSNA 2012 Introduction to Research for International Young Academics (IRIYA) Program. The focus of this program is to encourage young radiologists from countries other than the United States and Canada to pursue careers in academic radiology. Eligible candidates are residents and fellows currently in radiology training programs, or radiologists not more than two years out of training, who are beginning or considering an academic career (research or teaching). Nominations must be made by the candidate’s department chairperson or training director. Fluency in English is required.
I hope that you will have the opportunity to disseminate this information to Radiology Program Directors and Department Chairs in your country and encourage participation. A cover letter and a promotional flyer outlining the 2012 IRIYA Program, and the 2011 program agenda are attached for your convenience. Please feel free to make copies to send to as many radiology programs as you feel appropriate. As explained in the cover letter, the nomination form and supporting documents should be completed electronically and submitted as e-mail attachments. Signed copies can be forwarded as PDF documents (most preferred method), mailed or faxed.
NOMINATION DEADLINE FOR THE IRIYA PROGRAM: APRIL 15, 2012.
Please contact Diane Tokarski at dtokarski@rsna.org or by telephone (630) 368-3742 with any questions.
Sincerely,
William W. Mayo-Smith, MD
Chairman, RSNA Committee on International Relations and Education
